Season 1 focuses on solely $MAVIA tokens as a reward for the airdrop. The participants in Season 1 include Land stakers from Season 2, 3, 4, Land NFT Holders, as well as users who download the Mavia game from Android and Apple app stores.

An additional 1% of the $MAVIA token supply will be reserved for CEX Exchange related airdrop activities for the $MAVIA token launch. This means a total of 3.5% of the $MAVIA token supply will be used for Airdrops during our TGE event.
The initial circulating supply at TGE will be 12% (30 million $MAVIA). The total Airdrop allocation will make up roughly 30% of the initial circulating supply (3.5% total, 2% for Land stakers/holders and 1% for CEX exchange airdrop activities).

If you are a new holder and did not stake land, you will still be eligible for an Airdrop! The rewards will be calculated for holders closer to TGE, so keep an eye on the portal.

The amount of Airdrop you can earn depends on the Rarity of land, and the total amount of Land NFTs held. Common, Rare and Legendary earn different amounts of MAVIA airdrop, with Common being the least and Legendary earning the most.

When the claim goes live (shortly after TGE), you will be able to claim your Airdrop.

The Beta will be released in several phases, with each phase growing in playerbase and scope of games features, up until the official global launch on the iOS and Android app stores! Let’s dig in.
<h3>1: Beta Phases and Dates</h3>

This gradual increase in players and audience size allows our development team to test critical infrastructure and optimize assets and logic for the vast range of different device types, geolocations, localizations and hardware capabilities.

The Phase 1 of the Mavia Beta will be exclusively accessed by the Land NFT owners. We will begin by allowing in a select handful of land owners in on June 30th, with a gradual rollout over the course of Phase 1 to the remaining land owners.
The purpose of the gradual rollout is to ensure our development team has ample time to address bugs and issues relating to different device types and hardware performance capabilities. We anticipate Phase 1 to last roughly 2 months, giving our Land NFT owner community the first-look and ability to play and provide feedback and testing abilities before anyone else.
Game access is granted via Invite Codes which will be activated on the Mavia website. We will be providing instructions in the Discord for registering your land for the beta and gaining access.
Once Phase 1 is completed, and Phase 2 begins, all progress accomplished in the game from Phase 1 will be reset. We anticipate that Phase 1 will last until the end of August.
Phase 1 Overview:
<ul>
<li>This beta phase will take place on TestFlight and Android as a direct download.</li>
<li>Rollout will begin on June 30th to select Land owners, with a gradual release to all NFT land owners over the course of Phase 1.</li>
<li>All progress is reset upon beginning of Phase 2.</li>
<li>Core purpose of this phase is to test, debug and get feedback from community to enhance the gameplay and polish before Phase 2.</li>
<li>Anticipated duration of Phase 1 will be June 30th to August 31st.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Beta Phase 2: Larger Mavia community and waitlisted user access</h4>
The second phase of the Beta will allow the larger Mavia community and other waitlisted members to join the Beta (even those without any Land NFTs).
We will be having a waitlist page open prior to this phase which will allow anyone to register for the Beta, including those who are new to the Mavia game and community. We will prioritize our existing Discord and Twitter community first on the waitlist.
This phase of the Beta is anticipated to run from September 1st — October 31st, and will serve as the core beta test for the game, putting our game against the test of tens of thousands of players and ensuring that all mechanics, logic, graphics and software run optimally before our big push out to the world on the app stores.
Our development team will be iterating based off of feedback and bug reports, while also increasing the pre-planned functionality of the game to increase the scope of the Mavia beta and give new experiences and features to all players.
Similar to Phase 1 of the Beta, Phase 2 will be run via an Invite Code system which will be scaled to support email to acommodate the larger number of anticipated users entering the game. Land NFT players will be rolled-in automatically using the same code as Phase 1.
Phase 2 Overview:

<li>Phase 2 will take place on Testflight and Android direct download.</li>
<li>Rollout is planned to begin on September 1st to the larger Mavia community and waitlisted members, with a gradual release over time to include as many waitlisted users as possible.</li>
<li>All progress is reset upon beginning of Global Launch.</li>
<li>Purpose of Phase 2 is to increase the audience of the Beta, implement new features not available in Phase 1, and also to test/polish the game based on a large playerbase.</li>
<li>Anticipated duration of Phase 2 will be September 1st to October 31st.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Global Launch: Worldwide launch on the iOS and Android app stores</h4>
The third and final phase of our game rollout will be the launch on the iOS and Android app stores.
We will begin by launching the game in smaller market countries from each regions of the world (South America, Europe, Asia, Middle East). We will test our various metrics in a real production environment, and optimize them before rolling out to the rest of the world.
We have learned from some of the best advisors in the world on our team, and have agreed that rolling out gradually is the best option for ensuring the most optimal launch, as it gives us almost all of the essential data we need with none of the risk of performance issues in the larger markets such as USA, China, Japan and others.
At the moment, we anticipate the global app store launch to begin in early November 2023.
During the time of the global launch, users are still able to access the beta from Phase 2 until the app store version is available in their region.
<h3>2: Access and Invite Codes</h3>

For Phase 1, Land NFT owners will be able to visit a designated page on the Mavia website and generate their invite code. Invite codes will not be granted to all Land owners at the same time, they will be gradually released over the course of Phase 1. We will be posting more information on this process in the Discord closer to the beginning of Phase 1.

After this, we will be marketing the waitlist page as an advertisement on social media campaigns throughout TikTok, Instagram and Twitter to a wider gaming audience.

Alliances will not be released in the Phase 1 of the Beta, although it is likely to be implemented into Phase 2. As one of the core elements of the game, Alliances will be having some exciting perks for players to join and engage with!
The Armory (shop) will feature the essential buildings during the Beta Phase 1, with the introduction of cosmetics and decorations in Phase 2 of the Beta.

In addition to community art, Skrice Studios will use this art gallery as a place to organize and reveal concept art and 3D renderings of Mavia’s various characters, buildings and landscapes.

The Mavia Elite competitions and Land NFT whitelist art challenges resulted in thousands of impressive original pieces of art submissions for the Mavia community to enjoy, but there was no central place to organize and showcase all past art pieces. After only a few new art pieces posted to the Discord community channels, the old art got buried quickly.
After many months of seeing the beautiful fan art created by our extremely talented community, we at Skrice Studios were saddened to see so many great pieces get buried at the top of the “Art” channel in the Mavia discord, never to be seen again.
So, we decided to develop our own “Pinterest” like art gallery which showcases all of the beautiful art created by both our community and Skrice Studios.
<h4>How Art Pieces Are Added:</h4>
All of the art pieces added to the gallery were hand-selected from our team.
Art is not able to be uploaded directly from community members to the website, it must first be added to the Discord channel and one of our team members can add it to the gallery manually. This is done for moderation purposes.

We are excited to share these important updates to all of our Mavia Land owners and community members.
In this article, we will be outlining several major changes and improvements we have made to the Mavia game model, as well as the future rollout of Land NFTs and Heroes.
Before diving into the details, we want to note that we have listened very carefully to the community, and we have also discussed the following changes with multiple focus groups consisting of many community members and Land owners to ensure we made the proper decisions. With these changes, we are now even more confident in the future of the Mavia ecosystem and game!

Heroes play a very important role in Mavia. While they are not required to play the game, Heroes are extremely powerful units that support players in both defense and offense, making their presence on any base essential, especially as players reach higher HQ levels where offensive/defensive strategies become more complex.
In fact, Heroes are so crucial to the game balance that we believe it is unfair to not have access to Heroes at any given time, as their absence on a base or in an army can make defeating Hero-equipped opponents much more difficult.
However, if all Heroes are optionally-equipped NFTs as they were planned to be originally, then that leaves the possibility for many players to not have access to Heroes for their base. The reasons for this could be that the player may not be able to afford the additional Hero NFTs, or they do not want to go through the extra steps to purchase/rent the Heroes.
Regardless of the reason for not buying or equipping them, we do not want any situation where players will not have access to a unit as important as Heroes.
As a result, we have decided to make available to all bases four default Heroes, which will not be NFTs, but instead will be combined with the Land NFT itself.
This means all Land owners will be getting four Heroes guaranteed packaged-in with their Land NFTs, with no extra NFT purchase required. These four Heroes are not free, and will still require RUBY to be unlocked. Also, these Heroes are unlocked sequentially, depending on the HQ level of the base.
There will still be many additional Hero NFTs which are not included by default with the Land NFT, but these will be optional and more unique/rare than the four default ones. The benefit of owning these additional Heroes is that they will have different powers, strategies, looks and scarcity compared to the four default Heroes.
<blockquote>NOTE: Default Heroes are not “free”. There will still be a RUBY cost associated with buying and upgrading the default Heroes. However, what has changed is that access to these Heroes are guaranteed for all bases, and the Heroes are not trade-able, so there is no chance of losing access to these Heroes in the future. The cost in RUBY of these Heroes will be announced at a later time.</blockquote>
Future Hero NFTs will be distributed to the community in various ways in the future, but at the moment we are no longer planning for a Hero NFT Sale prior to game launch. We believe the focus should remain entirely on Land NFTs, the MAVIA token and the game itself.
Skins, upgrades and accessories can still be purchased for the four default Heroes just like any other Hero NFT, but the value derived from these upgrades are now added to the Land NFT instead of the individual Hero NFT. This is because the four default Heroes are permanently attached to the Land NFT.
We have not yet decided which Heroes will be chosen as the four defaults for each base, this will be announced in a later update.
We are very excited about this change, because it means that all any player needs to begin playing the game is a base, and this base will not require any additional NFTs to compete fairly amongst other players. We have always distanced ourselves from mechanics that may make the game “pay-to-win”, and this change further solidifies this principle.
There will not be any Statue NFTs which come default with the base, as statues do not enhance offensive/defensive capabilities. Statues enhance the economics of bases (such as gold and oil production), and do not create an unfair advantage in battle against other players, so there is no risk to game balance by keeping all Statues as supplemental and optional attachments to the bases.

This specific update is perhaps the most important we have ever announced, as it helps our model scale and accelerates our growth in ways we could not do previously with NFTs alone.
We have always planned on incorporating a free-to-play model into Mavia, but we first had to wait until the in-game RUBY tokenomics were properly balanced and structured for the NFT players, as these players are our current priority, and make up the core of the Mavia ecosystem.
<h4>Benefits of Incorporation Free-to-Play</h4>
Benefit #1 — Matchmaking: With a player base of only 10,000 NFT Lands, there exists a difficulty matching up players in the pool. Given that there are 10 HQ levels, and the amount of players distributed across these HQ levels exist on an uneven spectrum, it becomes more difficult to match up players on the higher and lower ends of this spectrum without increasing the matchmaking pool. With a free-to-play player base added to the matchmaking pool, it allows all players to find compatible matches in the battle matchmaking process, and Alliance war matchmaking process.
Benefit #2 — Scalability: Many players who cannot afford or gain access to the Land NFTs that wish to play the game are not able to play without a free-to-play model. While it is true increased demand for the game will make Land NFTs more desirable, there is still a fixed limit to the amount of players that can exist in the game at any point in time if the only entrance to the game is via the Land NFTs (buying, renting or partnering). If Mavia is to scale to a large player base, it is essential to incorporate a free-to-play model that allows anyone to enter the game. The F2P model will allow us to scale to a very large player base, without compromising the balance and security of our RUBY tokenomics model.
Benefit #3 — Revenue: Free players bring the opportunity to create revenue streams which can help to grow the RUBY economy exponentially. While free-to-play may not receive the same benefits which Land NFT ownership provides, there are still many incentives to compete and climb the ranks in Mavia as a free player, and the thrilling gameplay along with the goal of becoming a top Player/Alliance will create additional revenue streams which fully benefit the RUBY economy. Due to the decentralized structure of the RUBY economy, $MAVIA holders Land NFT players benefit the most from a free-to-play model succeeding.
Benefit #4 —Awareness: The only path for Mavia to reach mass-adoption is a vibrant community with ways for players of all background to contribute and enjoy. These free players will bring engagement, awareness, content creation, word-of-mouth marketing and many other benefits to the ecosystem that would be easily incorporated via a free-to-play model.
<h4>How the Free-to-Play Model Works</h4>
Please note that these rules are subject to change, and may be adjusted or modified before the release of the F2P model.
<h4>Free-to-Play Limitations:</h4>
<ul>
<li>
No “play-to-earn” functionality: The F2P players will not be considered “play-to-earn”, as there will be no war chest to collect RUBY from defeated opponents. The rewards at the end of any successful attack will be solely Gold and Oil resources, similar to other Web2 base-builder games.</li>
<li>
Cannot transfer base: Players will not be able to transfer their base to another player via an NFT or a wallet transfer. This is a feature solely exclusive to NFT players.</li>
<li>
Cannot incorporate Hero/Statue NFTs: Free players will have access to Heroes, but they will not be in the form of NFTs. The Heroes will be identical to the four default Heroes as the NFT bases, but will not have access to the NFT Heroes available to Land NFTs.</li>
<li>
No Common/Rare/Legendary bases: In the free game, there are no such things as land rarity, all land types are the same. All free bases are similar in design, and have no location on the official “Mavia NFT Island”.</li>
<li>
Base is not an NFT: Free players have their accounts synced to a wallet address, but do not own any NFTs related to Mavia. The progress saved is solely attached to their wallet address via our database, and no NFTs are involved in F2P.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Free-To-Play Benefits:</h4>
<ul>
<li>
Can earn RUBY through tournaments: Free-to-play players are able to compete in community tournaments, which have RUBY rewards for the top winners. We anticipate the rewards to be much higher than our Web2.0 counterparts offer currently, which provides an increased incentive for F2P players to advance their base and engage in the game. The amount of RUBY earned in these tournaments is limited, and poses no risk to the RUBY model’s long-term growth and sustainability.</li>
<li>
Can join and compete in Alliances alongside NFT players: Free players will be able to join and form Alliances, even alongside NFT players. Because F2P and NFT players’ bases are identical in balancing, it is fair and encouraged for players to compete alongside each other against other Alliances.</li>
<li>
Can spend RUBY on consumables, speed-ups, skins and more: F2P players are able to purchase RUBY and use it in-game for consumables, build/train time speed-ups, rare skins and more (similar to NFT players). Because F2P players do not receive the same increased NFT value for purchases like Land NFT holders do, the in-game RUBY prices may be adjusted for F2P players. Web2.0 games currently receive hundreds of millions/billions of dollars in revenue each year in in-game purchases, and our F2P player base taps into this market.</li>
<li>
Access to wagered matches: F2P players are able to compete in wagered matches, creating more engagement and revenue for the RUBY economy. Small RUBY fees are charged on each wagered match, which are immediately burned. The more wagered match volume created within the game, the more RUBY is burned.</li>
<li>
Top Monthly/Quarterly Winners Can Gain Land Whitelist: F2P players will be offered whitelist allocations for the main Mavia NFT island if they rank in the top-charts of the F2P leaderboards. This allows the most deserving and skilled players to make it to the main NFT island, allowing the “cream of the crop” to grow the NFT player-base.</li>
<li>
View base on explorer: Players will be able to see their stats, attack history and many other stats similar to NFT players on the Mavia explorer.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Other Free-to-Play Notes:</h4>
<ul>
<li>
Can be attacked by NFT players: F2P bases can be attacked by NFT players. While they will not have RUBY to steal and raid, the progress earned by NFT players contributes to their challenge progress, which can earn RUBY rewards upon completion. F2P players cannot attack NFT bases, they can only be attacked by other NFT players.</li>
<li>
No RUBY war chest: F2P players do not have a need for a RUBY war chest, as they do not earn RUBY from attacking enemy bases.</li>
<li>
Base buildings and troops similar to NFT bases: The F2P bases have almost identical bases to NFT players, making matchmaking and competitions fair, as the hit points and health is similar. NFT bases do have very different appearances and luck factors, depending on Common/Rare/Legendary status.</li>
</ul>
<blockquote>NOTE: The free-to-play model is not expected to be implemented and available to the public until several months after the global launch consisting of only our Land NFT owners. We are aiming for early-2023 for free-to-play to be fully released.</blockquote>
<h4>Summary</h4>
In summary, free-to-play allows us to onboard hundreds of thousands or even millions of players into the Mavia ecosystem while simultaneously enhancing the RUBY economy and creating a more competitive and balanced player base for all players to enjoy.

<h4>10,000 Hard-Cap Implemented for 2022</h4>
One of the most important questions that Land owners have asked relates to the maximum supply of Land NFTs that will exist in Mavia, and the rate at which these lands will be sold/released to the public.
We initially gave a soft-cap of 100,000 Land NFTs total on the Mavia island. However, more important than the maximum amount of land is the rate at which that land is released.
We have carefully considered this topic, and we have decided to firstly set a maximum land limit up until the game launch:
<blockquote>There will be a hard-cap of 10,000 Mavia Land NFTs in total circulation until January 2023.</blockquote>
There will not exist more than 10,000 Mavia Land NFTs until January 2023, as this timeline allows us to keep our player base relatively small and easily testable for the Beta and official game launch.
At time of writing, there are exactly 8,000 Land NFTs in circulation. Some of the remaining 2,000 plots of land will be distributed to Mavia Elite competition winners, with the remainder distribution method TBD.
<h4>Future Land Releases (After Jan 2023 — Land NFT #10,001+)</h4>
Now, we will discuss more details on future land releases after January 2023.
In the early stages of Mavia, we did not have a robust free-to-play model in mind as described in Update #2 above, and the game was primarily centered around the NFT players only. This meant that the entire player base consisted entirely of land owners. As a result, if we needed to expand the player base to create more competition and matchmaking options, we would need to release more Land NFTs to the community in order to grow the amount of bases and potential matches in the game.
However, now that we have integrated a carefully balanced free-to-play model that allows free players to seamlessly integrate with NFT players, we are able to infinitely grow the player base without needing to release more land in order to stabilize the matchmaking.
This is a big win for the existing NFT holders, and the Mavia ecosystem as a whole. There is now no critical game balancing requirement forcing us to release more land, and we as a DAO are able to decide together in what quantity and form should the future land be released to new players.
Even though the game no longer depends on new NFT players entering the ecosystem to balance the game and increase the player pool, it is still extremely beneficial to responsibly release additional Land NFTs to the players and grow the Mavia NFT island.
Benefits to releasing Land NFTs:

<li>Sale proceeds from Land can be paid in Ruby, stimulating the Ruby economy.</li>
<li>Additional NFT players bring more top-talent and competition to the P2E economy.</li>
<li>Gaining access to a Land NFT is one of the main incentives for free-to-play players to compete and win.</li>
<li>Grows the ecosystem as a whole, bringing more awareness, content and activity to the game.</li>
</ul>
In summary, we are now in a position where we are able to slowly release Land NFTs at a rate we all agree is sustainable and responsible. In the future, the DAO and Land Owners will help to decide these rates of land releases together.

<h3>Overview</h3>
The idea of soft-staking originated from a need in the NFT community to be able to earn rewards easily from holding, without paying high gas costs, and without exposing NFT owners to a long lockup period without being able to hold and control the token in the user’s wallet.
Traditional staking involves depositing the NFT into a smart contract (costs gas $) and then locking the NFT for a specified time period. Once the lockup period is finalized, users will then need to withdraw the NFT from the staking contract (another gas cost $), and then the user will have control over the NFT again.
We feel that in the case of NFT staking, a simpler solution should exist to reward holders, and soft-staking solves all of these issues.
<h3>Release Date</h3>
Land NFT soft-staking will be released for the public officially on Saturday, March 26 2022.
This does not mean you must stake on this date. At the moment, there is no deadline to begin your stake. However, the sooner you begin your stake, the sooner you will earn your rewards (after nine months).
<h3>Rewards</h3>
Reward #1: Gold Statue NFT
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*pjCxqRUWLEDXUMQfbitjjA.jpeg"></figure>Our first round of soft-staking will require a holding period of nine months, and will reward every Land NFT staked with a “Gold Statue NFT”.
Each and every Land NFT staked will receive a Gold Statue NFT if they successfully complete their nine month holding period stake.
At the end of nine months, every user who completed the hold will see the Gold Statue whitelist appear in the minting page of Mavia.com, similar to how the Land was minted. However, this Gold Statue NFT mint is 100% free, and not just a whitelist. The only cost associated will be the gas fee required to mint the NFT.
The Gold Statue NFT is the first-ever Statue NFT made available to the public. The Statue can be placed on any base, and it will immediately begin improving the Gold production rate of the base. Gold is an essential resource in Mavia, and is used in dozens of buildings for upgrades and constructions, as well as many other things throughout the game.
By improving the rate at which you produce Gold, your base can grow stronger and faster. This NFT is very valuable, and will serve immense utility on any Land/Base it is placed on.
The Statue can be used immediately after it is minted, and after the game is released. The Statue NFT, like other NFTs, will begin at Level 1 and can be upgraded with RUBY to become more powerful and productive.
Reward #2: Mystery Reward (Rare + Legendary Only)

This reward is currently a mystery, and will be revealed closer to the game launch. There will be a slightly better reward for Legendary lands compared to Rare. Common lands are not eligible for the mystery reward.
<blockquote>NOTE: Users who stake more than one NFT are eligible to receive a reward for each piece of land staked. There is no benefit to separating wallets, and staking across multiple accounts. There is also no benefit to consolidating many lands into a single wallet.</blockquote>
It is important to remember that if during your stake, you sell or move your NFT from your wallet, you will be immediately disqualified from staking rewards, and will receive no reward for your time staked. Only if you have completed nine consecutive months of holding the NFT in your wallet will you receive the reward(s).
<h3>How Soft-Staking Works</h3>
Step 1: Choose Your Land NFTs to Stake

You can stake Common + Rare + Legendary at the same time, in unlimited quantities.
Step 2: Select “Stake Now”

Step 3: Confirm Your Stake &amp; Optional Whitelist

You are able to whitelist 2 wallets when you stake your land. The first whitelisted wallet is by default your connect account wallet, this cannot be changed.
You have the *optional* ability to whitelist a second wallet address also, which could be a hardware wallet such as Trezor or Ledger.
All whitelisted wallets enable you to transfer to/from them without ending your stake. Non-whitelisted wallets cause an immediate ending of the staking if your Land NFT is sent to it.
<blockquote>NOTE: You can add only 1 whitelisted address per stake. This whitelist address (in addition to the default address of your connected account) will NOT end your stake if your NFT is stored in it. This feature was created so users can store their NFTs in Hardware wallets, without ending their stake.</blockquote>
Once your select the “Continue” button, you will be asked to sign a transaction from your wallet. This will not cost any gas, this simply approves the stake transaction.
Step 4: Done — Hold Your Land NFTs

Because you still hold the Land NFT(s) in your wallet, you will be able to play by connecting your wallet to the game, without any consequence to your staking progress. Soft-staking really is like having your cake and eating it too!</blockquote>

We would first like to congratulate all of our new Mavia Land NFT holders! Our mint was a massive success, reaching a ranking of #8 on the 24-hour OpenSea volume charts within 12 hours of mint!
Mavia was also the #1 trending project on OpenSea’s explore screen!

Now on to the purpose of this article. We want to provide detailed information about the use case for your land, upcoming land development milestones, benefits and more below. We will try to cover most of the main questions we are asked often, and get you excited for what is coming for all land holders!
<h3>Land Inflation and Future Drops</h3>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*-ysOuRGPNY00nN1MAF8FvA.png"></figure>We have made very clear since the first AMAs we began to do with our community that our team puts the interests of our land owners (and future token holders) first.
The first land drop had 7,000 whitelists + 1,000 NFTs in the public sale on Binance. These 8,000 Land NFTs are the initial supply.
While creating more land is critical to growing the game, as it allows our community to grow and our player-base to expand, this should not come at the expense of existing land owners.
This is why we aim to release future land plots slowly over time. How slowly this process is will be discussed with existing Land NFT holders and the community.
While necessary to grow, releasing more land and creating inflation is a delicate process that must be balanced properly, and we have every intention of making sure our existing Land holders voices are heard and implemented in this process!
As for the process of how these future lands are released to the public, we do not currently believe the traditional whitelist process is the best route. Instead, we will reward future token stakers and other vested community members with opportunities to buy land. The form of payment for new lands when minted may be MAVIA token (once released), and in the future, RUBY also. More information will be released on this at a later time.
<h3>Discord Perks</h3>

Private Discord Channel: All landowner roles will also be granted access to a private channel on the Mavia Discord server, where devs and landowners can all discuss together new ideas and help shape the direction of the Mavia game.
<h3>Different Land Types</h3>

Common land has all of the same functionality and utility as Rare and Legendary, except the appearance is less lavish and the location on the map is not in prime areas. No defensive/offensive differences exist between any of the land types, nor do their sizes differ.
Rare: Rare land makes up 20% of the Mavia Island NFTs. Rare has a more luxurious design than the common, and also has a more desirable location on the land map itself. Additionally, Rare land has extra luck factor included when removing obstacles, which over time will prove to be very valuable!
Legendary: Legendary land makes up just 10% of the Mavia Island NFTs. Legendary has the most luxurious design out of all land types, and also has the highest luck factor when removing obstacles, as well as the peak location on the Mavia map. In the case of the Tropical type, Legendary has waterfront beach location.
<h3>Land Uses and Utility</h3>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/0*4dpy4QxnP0rMhMDL"></figure>In Mavia, land is the most valuable asset. Initially, all land starts out with a Level 1 Base. As players develop their land and re-invest RUBY into upgrading their Base HQ level and building their walls, troops and other defensive structures, the land improves in value. As the base grows stronger, the value of the land increases, creating multiple options for potential monetization by the owner:
1: Playing the Mavia game
The owner of the land can use the base they own to battle other bases and players across the island of Mavia, and compete for RUBY. As the base increases in strength, the player can battle stronger opponents, also yielding higher rewards in the event of victory.
2: Selling Base on Mavia Marketplace
The owner of the base can sell the land on the Mavia marketplace for MAVIA token, passing down all of the progress made on the base to the new owner. Once a base or it’s buildings are upgraded, they will always remain that level or higher, making it permanently more valuable. There will be “Buy it Now” and “Auction” style sales available.
3: Renting out base
Similar to the “AirBnB” model, base owners are able to rent out their base according to a range of dates and a price set by the owner. The tenant of the base will pay upfront MAVIA to the owner, but will in turn be able to earn and keep all of the RUBY generated from using the base. This includes RUBY won from battling opponents, successful defensive battles, completing challenges, finding rare items, and other events which earn players RUBY. The owner of the base will not benefit from this RUBY being generated by the player, but will instead be generating passive income in the form of MAVIA from the rental agreement.
Additionally, the owner of the base will benefit from the base structures being improved or upgraded by the tenant, such as walls and turrets. The tenant will be inclined to upgrade these base structures, as they do not require RUBY, but instead only Gold and Oil, and upgrading these structures helps the base succeed in defending from invaders.
4: Base Partnerships
Partnerships are a good way for new players to enter the Mavia world, requiring no MAVIA payment upfront. Similar to Axie Infinity’s Scholarship program, Base Partnerships allow a base owner to lend their land to another player, expecting the player to use the base, continue to grow the army and improve the base, and also battle other players, yielding RUBY rewards. In return for this work done by the player, the base owner will keep a fixed % of the RUBY earnings, as an owner’s fee. The RUBY split is decided by the owner before the partnership is formed, and can be adjusted as time goes on, at the owner’s discretion.
The RUBY proceeds are automatically distributed to the player and owner immediately upon any RUBY earnings being realized in the game. This model also makes it possible for skilled players to demand a higher RUBY split form the owner, as their gameplay will likely yield higher earnings than newer or less-skilled players. On the flip-side, players who are new to the game and looking to work for RUBY in the form of a partnership will likely accept less of a split from the owner, in order to build up a name for themselves in the Mavia game.
<h3>Land Reveal</h3>

However, designing 8,000 functional bases each with a unique design and location on a realistic looking map takes some time! We are building the flows and tools to be able to render these lands individually for players when they build their base, attack neighbors, or defend against invaders.
This design process will be complete in Q3 2022, and it is at this time that we will reveal to everyone their individual base designs!

<h3>Land Soft-Staking Mechanics and Rules</h3>

Mavia Land Soft-Staking is a brand new staking model created to give more flexibility and control to our players, while also rewarding strong hands with rewards in the game.
Soft-staking means Land owners can stake Land without their NFT ever actually leaving their wallet. Users simply press the “Stake” button, and our Backend will begin watching the associated wallet and ensuring the NFT never leaves or is sold on a secondary market.
The holder will agree to a specific stake duration (6–12 months), and only after this time has passed with the staker receive the reward, as long as they did not transfer or sell the NFT from their wallet.
Because this process is entirely off-chain, there is no gas fee associated with staking/un-staking.
The entire process will be accessible on Mavia.com when it is released (later this month in March 2022).
Rewards
We have not officially announced the rewards for soft-staking, but we can say this for now:
<ul>
<li>Common, Rare and Legendary will receive different rewards (or Rare and Legendary will receive additional rewards than common). This is another way for us to deliver value to our higher-end land holders, while remaining fair to all stakers.</li>
<li>We are considering offering Hero and Statue NFTs for stakers (this will require gas to mint the reward, but not to stake the land).</li>
<li>We will add the ability to whitelist 1 other wallet when you stake, to give you the chance to move your NFT to a hardware wallet or other cold storage wallet without breaking your stake. Any transfer to a non-whitelisted wallet results in your stake being terminated.</li>
<li>Land staking rewards and details will be announced on March 12, 2022.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Gas-Free Utility</h3>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/0*xLExurVLcBi8tbAk.jpeg"></figure>Since we began designing and developing Mavia, we have always put user-experience at the top of our priority list.
We want to create an environment with as little friction as possible for new players to enter Mavia. And gas fees are the biggest hurdle when it comes to blockchain games remaining low-friction.
Our solution is simple: move as much game logic as possible off-chain.
We have designed the servers and platform itself to only require you to hold an NFT, and the rest will be taken care of by us. All battles, in-game RUBY transactions and earnings, tournaments and upgrades will all occur off-chain. As long as you hold Mavia Land in your wallet, you do not need to do anything else — and that means you do not have to pay any additional gas to use Mavia after you own the Land.
Even when Land owners form partnerships with other players, no gas needs to be paid by either party. All logic will be handled by us, gas-free!
<h3>Mavia Alliances</h3>

However, we do not want you to wait until the game comes out for you to begin forging these Alliances, so we are building our the functionality to form your own Alliances with other land owners in March! All land owners who soft-stake their land will have the ability to join or create an Alliance, which will have additional perks and functionality prior to game launch as well!
<h3>Warnings</h3>
Please be cautious of scammers looking to steal your valuable land. Bad actors will make Mavia look-alike UI and website and try and trick you into interacting with their smart contracts which can end up resulting in you losing your Mavia land!
ALWAYS make sure the URL you are visiting is Mavia.com before interacting with any smart contracts, or signing any transactions.

Before we begin the guide, we want to warn you about a few important things:

<li>
ONLY mint on Mavia.com — There will never be another minting website, only the official mavia.com website will have the mint on it. Watch out for tricky domain endings which are used by scammers, like .cc or .org, etc. Only .com is the correct Mavia website</li>
<li>
ONLY stake on Mavia.com — When staking is made available for land, it will only take place on Mavia.com.</li>
<li>
ONLY sign transactions on Mavia.com — Other websites which claim to add functionality to your Mavia Land NFTs and ask for your wallet signature are scams, avoid these at all costs.</li>
<li>
We no longer send Emails— If you receive an email claiming to be Mavia, it is a scam. Mavia will no longer send out any emails to any of our community members.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Introduction:</h3>
The first Land NFT mint is set to begin on Friday, March 4 at 10:00 AM EST (NYC Time).
In order to better prepare the whitelisted community members and other users who wish to participate in the public NFT sale phase of the mint, we have created this guide to show you ahead of time what the UI and flow is for the mint on Mavia.com
There are two phases of the mint process:
<ul>
<li>
Whitelist Sale — This phase lasts 72 hours, and is the first phase of the mint sale. All pre-sale and whitelisted users can mint their allocation guaranteed during this time period, with no fear of “gas wars” or any race to mint. However, if users fail to mint their allocation during this period, then their allocation will be moved to the “Public Sale” phase.</li>
<li>
Public Sale — This phase of the land sale allows any user to mint up to 5 common, 5 rare and 5 legendary lands each. This phase is designed to sell out quickly, and users may find themselves fighting with others rapidly to purchase the leftover land from the whitelist sale. This phase begins exactly 72 hours after the begin of the mint (Monday, March 7 @ 10:00 AM EST).</li>
</ul>
<h3>Step 1: Create account</h3>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/600/1*wBFpV3oA7IPm_tF_7y47og.gif"></figure>The first step is to create your Mavia account. All you need to do in order to create an account is connect your supported Cryptocurrency wallet.
Supported wallets include:

<li>MetaMask (including hardware wallets via MetaMask)</li>
<li>TrustWallet</li>
<li>Coinbase Wallet</li>
</ul>
After you connect your wallet, you will need to choose your username. Your username can be changed anytime.
<blockquote>NOTE: This username will be used inside of the game and publicly displayed for various staking/game events.</blockquote>
After you choose your Mavia username, simply fill the captcha anti-bot form and then hit “Create Account”.
You will also be asked to sign your signature using your wallet. This is to confirm your wallet ownership, and does not call any functions on a smart contract.
If successful, you should see the “Account was created” popup.
<h3>Step 2: Navigate to mint screen</h3>

<h3>Step 3: Mint your Land NFTs</h3>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/600/1*i2ZDXV-Knbu2jUZpW9Jc_w.gif"></figure>Once you arrive on the mint screen, you will be shown the Common, Rare and Legendary land boxes. Each box can only mint its respective land type.
Depending on your whitelist, you may only be able to mint a single type of land, or you may be able to mint some from each type.
<blockquote>NOTE: Minting more than 1 NFT in a single transaction is possible using our UI, and it saves gas costs also. However, you can only mint a single Land NFT type at a time.</blockquote>

Do not exit out of the window, simply wait for the transaction to complete.

We are working hard to make new types of UI for our users that will last throughout the game, not just as a single use for our initial mint. This framework and architecture we build is scalable and will be used for all of our future NFT mints, and is extremely dynamic.
